Philosophy of St. Stanislaus Program
We teachers, parents and students in the CCD Program are called to witness Christ. As teachers, we seek to set an example by daily prayer at home, regular reception of the sacraments, and attendance at Mass. Parents should reinforce the teachings learned in CCD by modeling good Catholic practices in family life.
The registration fee for the program is $20. In the case of financial need, the fee will be waived. In order to replace a lost book, an additional $15 fee will be charged.
Throughout the year there will be one 9:00am Mass each month, in which all students are required to attend and be seated with their class. All other classes begin at 9:55am. If students come before that time, they must wait in the first floor hallway until their teacher arrives. Tardiness and irregular attendance greatly interfere with the student’s progress. Students are expected to attend all classes. If you know your child will be absent, notify the teacher in person or in writing, the previous week so a make-up assignment can be given. In case of an unexpected absence, call the CCD office at 584-5378. If you are unable to call, please provide a written excuse the following class. Arrangements should be made with the teacher for make-up work.
Students are required to complete any given homework assignments. Students are expected to keep up with material covered in class discussions. In the upper grades periodic tests and quizzes are given in order to monitor student’s progress. ALL work should be taken seriously.
Students are expected to be respectful to teachers and classmates. Uncooperative behavior is disruptive to the learning environment and will not be tolerated. Each teacher will use discretion in handling individual situations in the classroom. If a problem persists, the teacher will refer the problem to the CCD Director, Joanna Grabowski and Fr. Tomasz Sztuber.
No cell phones are allowed during class time. In case of emergency, students need to ask permission from the teacher or utilize the phone in the office. Food and drink are not permitted unless provided by the teacher or program.
We expect all parents to participate in special events and the meetings of the CCD Parent’s Group which are held on the first Sunday of each month. Throughout the year special activities such as liturgical services and events sponsored by the CCD Parent’s Group will be sponsored by the CCD Parent’s Group will be scheduled. Every attempt should be made to attend the liturgical services and we encourage participation in the social events.
In case of inclement weather CCD cancellations will be broadcast on WVIT Channel 30 and WFSB Channel 3.
Guests of students are not allowed unless previously arranged with the student’s teacher.
